Frodo & The Great Music He Holds

I am total nerd by the way. Or at least used to be (but, not too far into the past tense; sad, but true). I was obsessed. Yes, obsessed is a good word to use. I was obsessed with the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I wasn't alone, mind you. My family (mostly on my dad's side) was pretty obsessed as well. My friends were quite manic about it as well...Molly and Paula were the most fun to chat with it about. We would be running laps in our Sophmore Fitness For Life class and the only way we got through it was by quoting (word for word) from the movies. I think we burned more calories than most in the class because, not only were we running, but laughing and talking while we did it. Great times.

Anywho. I got my ipod in 2006 and when I plugged it into the computer, you know how itunes has you name it? So, the compy can have a name to recongnize? Well, of course, for "old times sake" I named it Frodo. So, every time I plug it in, it says "Frodo is now active." It's pretty hilarious, actually. Last night, I finally moved all my music (approx. 2900 songs) onto our desktop because it has more GB room. I updated "Frodo" for the first time in about 3 years and it felt so good! I love have my music somewhat organized...it makes me feel less anxious and more enjoyable when I listen to it (as I'm doing right now).

Rob makes fun of me because my music is so incredibly diverse. I think he's just jealous cause his choice in music is pretty lame...just stuff you would find on X-96 FM. :) Just kidding, hun (not like you read this anyway :) Anyway, I have everything from Mo-Tab to Busta Rhymes, Journey to Mandy Moore, Aaron Carter to Adam Lambert, Sting to Rascal Flatts, Les Mis Soundtrack to Eminem. I only have one Eminem song..."Lose Yourself" edited version. I have it because it reminds me of my cousin Tyler Gardner. He is one of the most animated guys I know. Hi-larious. When we were visting his family for Thanksgiving one year (he must have been 13 or so) I caught him in his room Afro-dancing and trying to act "hard" while singing along to this song. My uncle walked by and asked, "Is this music appropriate?" Ty answered, "Probably no, but so fun!" and kept on dancing. I love that song.

I only like a few rap songs. Most of them are edited. I have a few Kanye West songs because I love to heckle as I listen. He and Jay-Z are the funniest because of how they sing about themselves - I like their beats, though. It's hysterical. Rob doesn't get it. Music is so personal to me. There are a few songs that I can't listen to without getting tears in my eyes - like "Almost Honest" by Josh Kelley or "Bring on The Rain" by Jo Dee Massina and Tim McGraw (thank you, Shanna for introducing me to this song when were in Jr. High).

While typing this, I listened to "Say" by John Meyer, "What do you want from me?" by Adam Lambert, "Completely" by Diamond Rio, "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder, and "Set Fire to the Rain" by Adelle.

Please don't take offense to this, but one of my favorite playlists I have is entitled, "Chocolate Man Mix." Brian McKnight and Boys II Men...what more can I say?
