A Good Chunk of Boo-tay

Alright, flashback! I was peruzing my old (not-age-wise) young women leader's blog and was reminded of something that happened to me in 8th grade.

Twas a clear Spring 2001 day. I had Gym 7th period (I think) with Mr. Kimple - who we called Mr. Pimple because he was a big perv...a yuck story for another time. Anywho, I had Gym with Melis, Paula, Molly, and Debbie that year which rocked! All five of us doing as little as possible because we all hated Gym. It was grand. So, at that time in Gym we were playing outdoor soccer every day - which was one of our favorite sports to play - even though we really just stood at the goal and didn't play much. The bell had just rang for us to go into the locker rooms and chage for our next class. I think Molly, Debbie, and Melis were talking a little bit in front of Paula and I as we were walking off the field. Paula and I were lagging a bit behind - no doubt talking about how much we loved Lord of The Rings (we were fans on the verge of nerds).

Okay, I have to set this up...Paula is facing me and we're stopped on the edge of the field. All of a sudden Paula starts stuttering at me staring off at something. Then, I feel it: a hand grabbed my left butt-cheek (yes I still remember) and squoze for like 5 seconds which felt like an hour in reality. I gasped and Paula put her hands to her mouth in shock. I turned around and saw a long-time friend of mine Jared Tiller - who I thought had done it. I was ready to deck him and then he pointed his finger at another girl walking towards the buiding named Megan. She was laughing and pointing at me and then winked at me...yeah - pretty much one of the worst experiences of my life. Thankfully I didn't deck Jared, I don't think we'd have been friends after that. :) Good story to laugh about now, though.

Back to The Greats

Alas, Rob got me sick with his grossness. He was sick all this last week and because I love him and love to smooch him - I now have the grossness. Oh, well - that's what we call life, eh? When I used to get sick when I was younger, I used to watch the greats such as 'Anne of Green Gables,' 'Anne of Avonly,' 'Pride & Prejudice' (the six hour BBC version), 'Persuasion,' and 'Sense & Sensibility.' All these movies have the rugged responsibility of being called "chick-flicks" - I know. But, when you're a girl, and you're sick - at least for me - nothing is better than curling up on the couch with some herbal tea or ice cream (for the sore throat) and watching endless greats.
Right now, I am watching a movie that I never used to watch when I was younger: 'Jane Eyre' - the BBC Masterpiece Theater version released a few years ago. It's pretty up there with the rest of the greats. The character of Mr. Rodchester is played by a pretty handsome (yet a little weird-looking in a good way) actor. The actors make all of the difference with the timeless characters they are portraying.
I guess this is one good aspect of being sick that I can think of. Watching excellent movies that I usually do not have time for.
