Mormor

Inger Pedersen Ludlow
"Mormor"

1930 ~ 2012

Inger Kirsten Marie Pedersen Ludlow, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was reunited with her sweetheart on May 25, 2012, surrounded by her family in her home.

Born in Copenhagen, Denmark to Sophus and Betty Simonsen Pedersen, she is preceded in death by her parents, brother Kaj, husband Hal, and daughter Lisa. Inger is survived by her children, Kris, Karen, Terrie, and Hal, and is 'Mormor' to her 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Inger married her sweetheart Hal Aveson Ludlow, on October 12, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. They began raising their family, and she also worked as an Accredited Danish Genealogist for many years. She loved spending time one-on-one with her grandchildren, taking them shopping and spoiling them for a weekend. She was always sure to see to the needs of those around her, starting with her family.

Inger survived the German Occupation of Denmark, assisting the Danish Underground. After joining the church, she served in the LDS Mission Office, and helped further the work by translating many Church documents into Danish. A true pioneer, she immigrated to the U.S. at tremendous personal costs to marry in the Temple and begin a new life. She held various Church callings including beloved teacher, Stake Primary Board Member, Missionary and Ordinance worker and Shift Supervisor in the Salt Lake Temple for 25 years. Inger and Hal served in the Stockholm Sweden Temple as Missionaries for two years.

Mom loved genealogy and temple work. She and Hal enjoyed working together in the Temple. She loved the Lord, building His kingdom, and studying the gospel. She leaves behind a legacy of love for her family, and also well marked scriptures and many other church books, all evidence of her building her strong faith and testimony.

With a smile and a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes, she lovingly served her family and friends. From elegant dinners, to family outings, she worked tirelessly, and always made everyone feel welcome and loved, while her clever sense of humor put everyone at ease. She was there for her children, supporting and loving them, and helping them.

Inger endured many hardships in this life, but she bore them all by putting on a smile. Her motto was, "The bigger the trial, the wider the smile!" This, combined with her testimony and love of family saw her through the tough times.

We are grateful to Moms' caregivers from Home Instead, and Vista Care, who so lovingly cared for mom. She was loved and respected by all.

Funeral services will be held on Sat. June 2, at the LDS Garden Cove Ward, located at 1945 W. 9000 S. West Jordan, at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call on Friday June 1 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC, from 6 p.m. -8 p.m., and prior to the service from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
